KIFfen

hat Zukunft, im Semantic Web, denke ich. Zitat aus dem Model Theoretic Semantics in TeX

Intuitively, the semantics of KIF is very simple. Unfortunately, the formal details are quite complex. Consequently, we proceed gradually in our presentation. In this chapter, we introduce the basic notions underlying the semantics of KIF (in particular, the notions of conceptualization, interpretation, variable assignment, semantic value, truth value, and logical entailment). …

The W3C has just published seven documents related to HTML5. This set of documents also include the latest drafts of HTML+RDFa and of HTML Microdata.

The W3C Media Annotations Working Group has published Working Drafts of Ontology for Media Resource 1.0 and API for Media Resource 1.0.

Und W3C Provenance Incubator Group Wiki muss ich mir auch näher ansehen, weshalb ich mir den Link notierte.

New W3C Group to Standardize Relational Database to RDF Mapping

W3C announces the new RDB2RDF Working Group, whose mission is to standardize a language for mapping relational data and relational database schemas into RDF and OWL, tentatively called the RDB2RDF Mapping Language, R2RML. From the beginning of the deployment of the Semantic Web there has been increasing interest in mapping relational data to the Semantic Web. This is to allow relational data to be combined with other data on the Web, to link semantics directly to relational data and to aid in enterprise data integration. The creation of this Working Group follows the work of a previous W3C Incubator Group in this area. Read the RDB2RDF Working Group Charter

Basic Logic Dialect, RDF and OWL Compatibility, and Core Design

2007-10-31: The Rule Interchange Format Working Group has published three documents: RIF Basic Logic Dialect , RIF RDF and OWL Compatibility, and RIF Core Design – Placeholder; the first two are First Public Working Drafts. Basic Logic Dialect specifies a basic format that allows logic rules to be exchanged between rule-based systems. Rules interchanged using the Rule Interchange Format RIF may depend on or be used in combination with RDF data and/or RDF Schema or OWL data models. RIF RDF and OWL Compatibility specifies compatibility of RIF with the Semantic Web languages RDF and RDFS; in the future the document will address OWL as well. Finally, the Placeholder document resets expectations about the core RIF design. The Working Group has decided that that the design previously published as RIF Core is better considered as the basis for Logic Rules, rather than all kinds of rules. In the future, a new Core may be published, but for now, interested parties should refer to the Basic Logic Dialect. Learn more about the Semantic Web Activity.
